This street food is a Banarasi version of the Maharashtrian Poha or the Poha Chiwada of Bihar, yet so different from those dishes. The preparation process is inclusive and is made up of flattened rice along with fresh green peas of winter and to add to its taste its prepared in Ghee (butter). It includes a blend of spices, Garam Masala, is loaded with cashews and raisins and many more ingredients to give it a royal savoury.

One of the ingredients which sets it apart from the Marathi and Bihari counterparts is that onion isn’t added to the delicacy here in Varanasi. You are sure to find this appetizer in almost every Chaat oconfectionary shop or the food joints of the city and is eaten by people with great endearment and is prepared in every house as well.

Now that you know about the another hit dish of Varanasi other than Malaiyo, don’t forget to set out some time and taste it to experience it for yourself.

HAPPY MUNCHING!!
