Mata Anandmayee Ghat

The Ghat got its name after the well-known Priestess Anandmayee who bought the area from the English in 1944, and built massive Ashram where she practiced her rituals along with her subordinates. Due to her association with the place, the Ghat was eventually named after her. Above the Ghats, the Mata Anandamayee Ashram has a temple devoted to lord shiva and one to goddess Annapurna. The Ghat was renovated in 1988 by the Irrigation Department.
