Constructed under the orders of Shreedhar Munshi, The ruler of Nagpur during 1812, the Ghat was built along with couple of temples and a fortress. The Ghat is called Munshi Ghat in the respect of the High King Shreedhar Munshi. Darbhanga Ghat was separated from Munshi ghat in 1920, when the King of Dharbhanga bought a part of this ghat.
