Probably the most spectacular Ghat of Varanasi, the ghat can often be seen as a symbol of the city. As the legend related to Divodasa, the Ghat was used for the very spiritual Dashashwamedha Yajna. Under the rules of this ceremony, 10 white horses ware sacrificed by Lord Brahma on the grounds of this land. The Kashi Khanda records many verses describing glory of this ghat.
