Trilochan Mahadev Temple

Not very far from the Varanasi is this glorious temple of Mahadev which is believed to be a ‘Swayambhu’ which means that the lingam here is self existing since the times immemorial. The ambiance of the temple is very peaceful and soothing which makes it an obvious choice of the saints for meditation. There is a local market adjoining the temple and also a pond which is a perennial source of water and has many Hindu mythologies related to it. Legends say that lord Brahma organized a yagya after which Lord Shiva appeared here and is believed to reside here till date. Various folklore pertaining to the history of this temple is acclaimed even till today.
