Sampurna Nand Sanskrit University

This University has contributed towards keeping Sanskrit Alive. The establishment of Sanskrit Pathshala by Jonathan Duncan, a British in Varanasi in 1791, was a concrete step towards promoting this language. The university maintains a collection of 1, 50,000 rare and ancient manuscripts at its library. It is also a major centre for research work in Pali and Prakit literature and other fields of oriental learning.
