Gangamahal Ghat (2)
Gangamahal Ghat used to be a part of Sankatha ghat till 1864. Jiyaji Rao Sindhiya the high King of Gwalior purchased the northern part of Sankatha ghat and built a massive fortress along the ghat. Since the Fortess was built on the bank of Ganga, it was named as Ganga Mahal , and the Ghat was called Gangamahal Ghat. The architectural relevance of Ghat is celebrated by the artists, as it is one of the rare examples of classic art. The premises of the fortress has a temple of Radha and Krishna inside it.
