Ganesha Ghat

This Ghat was formerly a part of Agnishwar ghat till 19th century. Amritrava peshwa of Puna established a temple of Lord Ganesha, called Amritvinayak in 1807, the reason why with time out the ghat got prominent with the name of Ganesh Ghat. Bhadreshwra and Nagesa Vinayaka are the important shrines found in this ghat. The Ikshavaku Teertha a pilgrimage tour is associated with this ghat. During 1761-1772 Madhorao Pesava worked on the development of this ghat. In puranic description this is referred as Vighneshwara ghat.
