Shahi Birdge
Shahi Bridge
Situated in the heart of the city the Shahi Bridge connects the main Jaunpur town via Hanuman Ghat which was built by Munyeen Khankhana in 1564. On the opposite sides of the bridge there are little dome shaped places along the path which are often referred to as ‘Gumtees’, earlier the shops used to be set up here and the old market of the city starts from here.

On a square platform in the middle of the bridge there is a large sculpture of a lion with an elephant underneath its forepaws. The sunsets from here are worth seeing. Recently attractive lights have been added to the Shahi Bridge which enhances its beauty at night.
